Lab 1-A Career as a Web Developer
There are many great reasons that a career as a web developer holds my interest. The web development is among one of the fastest growing occupations in th U.S. according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Jobs for web developers are expected to increase 20% by the year 2022. As a web developer, an artist uses his originality and creative skill to construct websites for companies that thrive on e-commerce. A website with an attractive design and easy to use interface appeals to companies that want to attract consumers to buy their products and services.
The web developer designs a website that will attract the target market and intended audience of a client. The web developer is also responsible for the technological aspects, performance, capacity, speed, and traffic of a website. Furthering one's education to be a web developer includes obtaining an associate or bachelors degree in Web Design, Computer Science or Information Technology. There are many courses at Collin College that lead to a degree in Web Development.
A web developer must also be able to communicate well with clients to find out what their needs and desires are for their website. According to on company, "Big Drop", Inc., the client must approve every page. Customer service skills, artistic ability and a creative imagination are attributes that would be useful for someone seeking a career as a web developer. Since I am devoted to helping others, have an attention to detail and a lot of creativity, I think I would be a great web developer.
